Aid actively being provided in Vorster Wald by Neuss

In the heart of Vorst Forest, a weather shelter has undergone a remarkable transformation thanks to the efforts of local community group, "Neuss Crafts", and three kindergartens: "Hundert Morgen Wald", "Buntakuntla", and "Villa Luna".

A year ago, the shelter was in need of repair. Sponsorships from various sources helped cover the material costs, while the Bolten Brewery generously donated 3,000 bottle caps for craft work. These bottle caps were used to decorate the shelter, with each kindergarten contributing to the unique and vibrant design.

The renovation included more than just cosmetic changes. The roof was replaced, and graffiti was removed. The new roof, made entirely of wood, was constructed without the use of tropical woods or chemical sealants, ensuring sustainability and environmental friendliness.

Upon seeing the finished shelter, Kaarst Mayor Ursula Baum expressed her hope that potential graffiti artists would respect the work and refrain from further defacement. She also suggested that they should meet again in a year to check the condition of the shelter.

Fast forward to a recent gathering under the theme "A beer with Uschi", and it appears that her wish has come true. Ursula Baum attended the event, along with members of "Neuss Crafts", and observed that the shelter remains beautiful, with only minor details showing signs of defacement. The children's art decoration seems to have been effective in deterring graffiti, as the renovated shelter has not been defaced again since its inauguration.

This initiative by "Neuss Crafts" and the kindergartens of Vorst has not only resulted in a beautiful and sustainable shelter but also fostered a sense of community involvement and pride. It serves as a testament to what can be achieved when people come together for a common cause.

The weather shelter, now decorated with unique and vibrant artwork, has successfully deterred further graffiti due to the children's art decoration. This year, the shelter continues to boast a more sustainable and eco-friendly lifestyle, as it was constructed without using tropical woods or chemical sealants.
