Allianz joins forces with Evoque in efforts to develop eco-friendly insurance claims process
In a significant move towards a more sustainable future, Allianz UK has partnered with Evoque Group Limited to promote eco-friendly vehicle repairs and waste diversion. This alliance comes in the wake of the severe flooding caused by weather system "Boris" in certain regions, which saw a torrential downpour five times September's average.
The partnership, aimed at handling damaged materials responsibly and disposing of them sustainably, has launched the digital platform mygreenparts. This innovative platform sources green parts for vehicle repairs, offering parts that match repair standards and insurance requirements. mygreenparts digitalizes the supply of recycled spare parts, making the purchasing process easier for bodyshops and supporting sustainable repairs.
Matt Cox, Chief Claims Officer at Allianz UK, expressed his excitement about the partnership, stating that Allianz is committed to promoting those who explore, connect, and share how disruptive technologies can drive a more sustainable way of living. James Whittock, Business Development Director at Evoque, echoed this sentiment, expressing delight about the partnership.
Evoque Group Limited specializes in zero-to-landfill solutions, including salvage resale and recycling. This waste diversion equated to an approximate Co2 reduction of 7,500 metric tons in 2024. The company aims to increase this figure to 6 million kg in 2025.
Allianz UK has also pledged to divert 6 million kg of waste from landfill by 2025 through partnerships like with Evoque Group Limited. The salvage value (minus costs and fees) will be credited back to the claim, reducing overall claims costs.
In a separate initiative, Allianz SE has announced a donation of up to €1.5 million to support disaster relief in Central Europe following severe flooding. The company has also launched the Global Explorer Program, a series of global and local partnerships, digital and physical activities, and crowd-generated content platforms that promote exploration, connection, and sharing of sustainable ideas.
The partnership between Allianz UK and Evoque Group Limited aims to lead the way in property salvage strategies and potentially extend to other parts of claims in the future. This collaboration is a testament to both companies' commitment to sustainability and responsible business practices.
