Angler Omic shares "royal" catch during fishing ban
Omič made a boastful grin sampling a bit of fishing luck during the ban period.
The second wave of May festivities brought about increased fishermen activity in Omsk, disregarding a temporary prohibition on massive catchings. In fact, last Thursday, 8th May 2025, an ominous character in the "Fishing in Omsk" community proudly shared a most royal catch, snagged in the Kormiловsk region, on the grounds of one of the regional fishing clubs.
As our informant informed us, his line tugged on six hefty carps, with the largest one reaching "kingly" proportions. The bigger catch tipped the scales at a whopping 13.1 kilograms, while two other carps weighed in at a healthy 6 kilograms. Another one put up quite a fight, pulling in 4 kilograms. Fishing was carried out using traditional baits.
The video evidence shows the release of a carp that showed signs of taking the bait into its watery lair.
Let's remind ourselves, restrictions on fish harvesting on all water bodies in the Omsk region started 20th April 2025. These restrictions will be lifted in the Irtysh and its tributaries by 20th May, while in regional lakes—only by 25th May. Interestingly, just days into the introduction of these restrictions, watchful Ominians began noticing the first violators.
