King's Tour Artists Exhibition Opens at Buckingham Palace

The King's Tour Artists exhibition, featuring more than 70 works of art created by 43 artists, is now open at Buckingham Palace. The exhibition, which runs from July 10 to September 28, 2025, is a vibrant perspective of life on a royal tour, offering a unique perspective that differs from a photographic record.

Organized by the Royal Collection Trust and displayed in the State Rooms of Buckingham Palace, the exhibition includes works created by artists who have accompanied the King on royal overseas tours, visiting a total of 95 countries during 70 tours.

While the search results do not provide a complete list or names of the 43 artists represented in the exhibition, some named artists linked to royal tours include David Sawyer, Neale Worley, Warwick Fuller, and Luke Marineau. However, it is unclear if these four artists comprise the entire group or how the 43 artists are exactly defined.

The exhibition was announced by the Royal Collection Trust on Wednesday and is part of the Summer Opening of Buckingham Palace, from 10 July - 28 September 2025. Notably, the works on display in the Ballroom of Buckingham Palace were chosen by the King himself.

It should be noted that the role of official tour artist has been personally selected by the King for 40 years. In the spring of 1985, for example, John Ward was invited by Prince Charles, at his own expense, to join a royal visit to Italy as the official tour artist.

To get the full names of all 43 artists, consulting the official Royal Collection Trust announcement or the Buckingham Palace summer exhibition guide for 2025 would be necessary. Visitors are encouraged to explore the exhibition this summer and experience the unique perspective it offers on life during a royal tour.
