At the Marionette Theater Düsseldorf, formerly known as "Gigi Tour Guide" from Michael Ende's Momo, recently received a membership card from the Düsseldorf City Guides association, boasting a three-star status. While this may raise questions about his qualifications, Antje Kahnt, the chairperson of the Düsseldorf City Guides association, asserts that Gigi is well-deserving of the accolade. With extensive experience, a deep understanding of history ranging from antiquity to the present, proficiency in body language, a refined voice honed by Düsseldorf actors, and valuable language skills, Gigi meets the high standards set by the professional association BVGD, which requires 600 hours of European-standard training for certification.

Beginning on February 24th, Gigi's first assignment for the city guide association will be to promote the Marionette Theater, a captivating institution that has enchanted audiences for 68 years in Carlstadt. It's a common misconception that the private stage is only for children; in reality, the theater primarily caters to adults while appealing to the child within us, according to Anton Bachleitner, the theater director, who gave association members a tour of the venue.

On February 24th and 25th, other hidden gems of Düsseldorf will be unveiled by Anja Kühnert, Ute Pannes, Brigitte Salem, Brigitte Rey-Brogger, and Antje Kahnt during free walking tours between the Rhine and Königsallee. Although the tours will be conducted in German and French, donations will be collected for Gigi and the theater, as funding from the city of Düsseldorf has been reduced following challenging Corona years and mandatory renovations. With over 500 residents, the "Düsseldorf Puppet Theater" is in need of all the support it can get for those interested in joining the trial tours.

During the free walking tours on February 24th and 25th, led by Anja Kühnert, Ute Pannes, Brigitte Salem, Brigitte Rey-Brogger, and Antje Kahnt, participants will not only discover hidden gems of Düsseldorf but also have an opportunity to support the Marionette Theater, a long-standing institution that has captivated audiences for 68 years and caters to both adults and the child within us. On the same dates, Gigi, a three-star city guide who also happens to be a puppet, will embark on his first assignment at the Marionette Theater, promoting this enchanting venue for fashion-and-beauty and home-and-garden enthusiasts alike.
