Burlington Library Unveils *Write Here Write Now* Contest Winners

The Burlington Public Library has revealed the winners of the Write Here Write Now writing contest, held in May 2025. The competition, open to residents, workers, and students aged 10 and up, received 235 entries across three categories: Poetry, Short Stories, and Comic Books.

In the Poetry category, Katherine de Vries (Ages 10-12), Daphne Lindsay (Ages 13-17), and Rachel Swiednicki (Ages 18+) took top honours. The Short Stories category saw Ella Carmichael (Ages 10-12), Conor Gross (Ages 13-17), and Kriti Majumdar (Ages 18+) emerge victorious. Meanwhile, in Comic Books, Star Lucier (Ages 10-12) and Tammy Kim (Ages 18+) were crowned winners.

The winner of the first prize in the Short Story category for the 18+ age group remains unknown, as no publicly available information could be found about the author.

The Write Here Write Now contest celebrated the creativity and talent of Burlington's young writers. While the identity of the 18+ Short Story winner remains a mystery, the other winners have been recognised for their exceptional work.
