In the heart of Düsseldorf, Germany, the grand finale of Superbilk 2025 took place on Friday, July 25. This annual vacation camp, organised by the Catholic Church, welcomed over 100 children aged 7 to 14 for a two-week adventure filled with fun, learning, and camaraderie.

The theme for this year was "Superbilk on the Flower Meadow," and the meadow of Volksgarten served as the perfect backdrop for the event. The program included a variety of activities such as performances, music, dance, and catering, all aimed at creating unforgettable memories for the young participants.

The storyline of the grand finale was centred around Don Brokkoli, a mischievous grasshopper. This character was created by the leader's group, which included Eva-Käfer and Armando the ant. The performances and activities during the grand finale included improvisation theater, a summary of the past days' events, and a dance performance.

Throughout the two weeks, the children were kept engaged with numerous excursions such as swimming, Superfly, climbing, mini-golf, laser tag, or a visit to the Aquazoo. On Sports Day, a sponsored run was held, with Oberbürgermeister Stephan Keller participating. The children raised nearly 2500 euros for the purchase of a new tent.

The KiKo (Children's Conference) was held for the first time this year, with two representatives from each group taking part. The kitchen team, who received a second star for their delicious food at the grand finale, also played a significant role in ensuring the children were well-fed throughout the event.

As rain clouds threatened on Friday, the tents were quickly taken down before the closing festival. Three employees of the public order office visited during the grand finale and left after confirming everything was in order. The goal of the grand finale was to convince Don Brokkoli to spare the flower meadow, adding an element of excitement and anticipation to the event.

While detailed information about Superbilk's origin or yearly schedule is not widely documented in accessible public sources, visiting their official website or contacting the organisation directly is recommended for the most accurate and up-to-date information. It is also worth noting that Superbilk 2026 is already scheduled to take place from August 17th to 28th.

The Volksgarten, despite sometimes attracting strange people, proved to be the perfect setting for Superbilk 2025. The children, accompanied by around 80 volunteers, left the camp with memories that will last a lifetime, ready to return next year for another adventure.

Thechildren, immersed in the vibrant lifestyle of Superbilk 2025, also discovered the charm of home-and-garden during their camp activities at the flower-filled meadow of Volksgarten. Post-adventure, they looked forward to applying the lessons learned to improve their future home-and-garden projects.
