CII Report Maps India-Japan Business Cooperation: Invest, Source, Collaborate
The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has released a comprehensive report, 'Building India-Japan Business Cooperation: Investing in India, Sourcing from India', aimed at fostering business ties between the two nations. The report, published to guide businesses in both countries, highlights promising sectors in India for Japanese investors and explores collaboration opportunities in third countries, notably Africa.
The CII report delves into the investment climate of seven Indian states, providing insights into economic conditions, the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), and global value chain integration. It also employs an innovative tool, the Export Specialization Index (ES index), to pinpoint 42 high-potential products for sourcing from India to Japan. Top products identified include mineral fuels and oils, pharmaceutical products, aluminium and articles, and machinery and products.
India and Japan share a robust economic relationship, with the CEPA signed in 2011 further bolstering their economic and commercial ties.
The CII report serves as a roadmap for Japanese businesses looking to invest in India or source products from the country. It offers a detailed analysis of the Indian market, highlighting promising sectors and products, and paving the way for enhanced India-Japan business cooperation.
