City Showcases Plan for 23rd February Event
Pforzheim, a city in Germany, is set to commemorate a significant date in its history on February 23, 2018. The anniversary, themed 'Pforzheim looks around! 23rd February 1945 - 23rd February 2018', aims to set a visible sign for a coexistence shaped by tolerance and openness.
The city, in cooperation with representatives from church, culture, schools, and society, has put together a comprehensive program for the day. The official program can be found on Pforzheim.de.
A key element of the program is the 'Image Panel Project', an initiative that encourages dialogue among all age groups. This project is based on the question: 'How does the younger generation deal with the 23rd of February?'. As part of the project, students have dealt with the known image panels of the war-destroyed Pforzheim.
The 'Sea of Lights' event, which saw approximately 1,500 people attend in the city center in 2017, will take place on the market square at the end of the anniversary.
A historical walk through the Pforzheim city area is also part of the anniversary program. There will be readings such as 'You can erase Pforzheim from the atlas' during the day.
An accompanying exhibition for the 'Image Panel Project' will take place in the city laboratory from February 9 to March 9, 2018. The exhibition will feature the artist Harald Kröner, the cultural education commissioner Susanne Reinmüller, and young people themselves.
The communal cinema offers a comprehensive film program as part of the anniversary. There is also an opportunity to be present at the laying of 'stumbling blocks' during the day.
In addition, the anniversary involves young people in the remembrance. A new opportunity in 2018 allows individuals to commit to a resolution text in a prepared book, either online or personally in the foyer of the new town hall.
Unfortunately, the search results do not provide information about who compiled the program for February 23, 2018, in Pforzheim under the motto 'Pforzheim looks around! 23rd February 1945 - 23rd February 2018.' However, the program promises to be a day of remembrance and dialogue, a chance for the city and its people to reflect on their past and look towards the future.
