CoMoUK's Successful Edinburgh Mobility Hub Moves to Hawick

CoMoUK has concluded a successful pop-up mobility hub trial in Edinburgh. The temporary hub, which combined various transport options and community services, aimed to reduce car usage and congestion. The project has now moved to Hawick in the Scottish Borders until mid-November.

The mobility hub in Edinburgh was operational from late July to mid-September, located on Pennywell Road. It offered a mix of shared bikes, e-scooters, car clubs, and public transport, encouraging active travel activities such as walking, wheeling, or cycling for local journeys. The initiative received positive feedback from the local community, with requests for a permanent community mobility hub in the future.

Following the Edinburgh trial, CoMoUK plans to open four more pop-up mobility hubs in Ayrshire, Stirling, Glasgow, and other parts of Scotland. However, the next location after Hawick remains undecided, as no information is available on which Scottish city will host the next trial.
