Redrow's Expansion in Cheshire: Two Major Developments Unveiled

Redrow, a leading housebuilder in the UK, has announced plans for two significant developments in Cheshire, which will add approximately 1,250 new homes to the region.

The first development, Daresbury Garden Village, is Redrow's flagship project in the North West. Situated adjacent to their regional headquarters at Daresbury Park, this expansive development will be divided into three parcels.

The central parcel of Daresbury Garden Village will feature 200 three and four-bedroom family homes, including some semis and a range of detached properties. The south parcel, set to commence construction later this month, will offer circa 260 larger three and four-bedroom detached homes. The north area, following approximately six months after the south, will involve the creation of a new junction from the A558 and will include around 330 two, three, and four-bedroom homes, including mews-style properties, semis, and smaller detached homes.

Access to the development in Congleton will be via a new entrance on Manchester Road, adjacent to Giantswood Lane. Redrow is preparing a reserved matters application for 452 homes from its Heritage Collection in the Congleton site.

The secured land includes a 63.5-acre site in Congleton for homes, a primary school, and local shops. Redrow will make community payments totalling £8.5 million to Halton Council during the course of the Daresbury Garden Village development. These contributions will be earmarked for items such as converting the A558 to a dual carriageway, off-site affordable housing, bus route support, railway station improvements, landscaping, pedestrian links, and contributions to the Bridgewater Way Initiative and alternative marina locations.

In addition to these, Redrow will be making contributions worth £10.75 million to the community in Congleton. This includes £3.2 million for primary education, £6.85 million towards a new link road, and £300,000 for bus service improvements.

The acquisition also includes the completion of a series of land deals securing 120 acres for approximately 800 new homes at Daresbury Garden Village, near Warrington. The creation of an improved junction where Delph Lane meets the A56 Chester Road between Warrington and the M56 is part of the south parcel development.

Redrow's North West division has secured land for these developments, but the architect or construction company responsible for the planning of Redrow's developments in Congleton and Daresbury is not publicly specified at this time.

Daresbury Garden Village is targeted to build 700 homes per annum by 2023. This ambitious project is set to bring significant growth and development to the Cheshire region.
