15th Youth Theatre Festival in Osterholz-Scharmbeck Shrouded in Mystery

The 15th Youth Theatre Festival, organised by the Lower Saxon and Bremen German Stage Association (NBB) for the youth group of the Theater in OHZ (TIO), has left the public in the dark regarding its specific details. As of now, no detailed information about the dates, program schedule, or participants for this festival can be found in the gathered sources.

However, according to available information, the festival took place at the municipal cultural centre in Osterholz-Scharmbeck and featured a diverse workshop programme. The event attracted a total of 120 participants, including children, young people, and supervisors, who journeyed from various locations such as Neuenburg, Emden, Nordenham, Haselünne, Aurich, Wilhelmshaven, and Cuxhaven.

The festival weekend focused on theatre performances and related workshops. Ulrike Schütze from Wilhelmshaven and Timon Finke, 2nd chairman of the TIO, welcomed and addressed the participants, providing important information about the festival. Arnold Preuß, president of the German Stage Association, expressed his satisfaction with the festival's organisation and complimented the TIO team.

The play performed during the festival was based on the novel by Michael Ende and adapted for the stage by John von Düffel. Kian Pourian directed the production, which they had been working on for several months. The TIO team hosted the festival for the third time this year, with around 41 helpers preparing and setting up the event.

The festival's slogan was "We are the future," printed on pink t-shirts worn by all participants. TIO offered entertainment on the first evening, including disco and karaoke. A large parachute was set up in the courtyard as sun and rain protection, provided by the Lions Club.

The festival's organisers emphasised their delight in learning, growing, and gathering creative impulses together that will enrich their work. The NBB provides participants with t-shirts at each youth theatre festival, with current prints for the location and date of the festival.

The festival's closing performance took place at the large hall of Gut Sandbeck, where Plattmüüs performed their play "The Neverending Story." The participants spent the night in the sports hall of the Menckeschule. Arnold Preuß, president of the German Stage Association, confirmed that theatre playing is beneficial.

Official websites of the Lower Saxon and Bremen German Stage Association or Osterholz-Scharmbeck’s cultural department would be the best sources for authoritative and updated information about this event. If you're interested in attending or learning more about the festival, we recommend keeping an eye on these sources for future updates.

  1. Despite the festival's end, there might be another opportunity to experience French lifestyle and outdoor-living, as the Theater in OHZ (TIO) has expressed a keen interest in organizing more events with a home-and-garden focus, similar to the large parachute set up for sun and rain protection during the 15th Youth Theatre Festival.
  2. In the spirit of continuous learning, the Lower Saxon and Bremen German Stage Association could potentially collaborate with French institutions to organize a workshop program focusing on French lifestyle, outdoor-living, and home-and-garden themes, thereby enriching the knowledge and skills of its participants.
