Cultural center's primary structure is the central edifice.
The cultural center in Schneverdingen, currently under construction, is making significant strides towards its opening next spring. The project, which is estimated to cost around three million euros, has seen substantial engagement from private individuals and sponsors.
The city is subsidizing the construction with 1.432 million euros, with the remaining funds being sourced from various sources. The construction site, located between Verdener Straße and Kirchstraße, is divided into two phases to secure additional funding.
Despite the ongoing renovations and rebuilding at the old location, the cultural association's program continues to thrive. Not only will the association's own groups like language courses be accommodated, but external rentals are also on the agenda. Potential activities include yoga, drawing, singing, and more, demonstrating the demand for the cultural center.
The construction site is well-prepared, with space reserved on the plot for construction vehicles to maneuver or temporarily store materials. However, there is some uncertainty about the delivery of heating for the cultural center, which could potentially impact the schedule.
One of the key tenants at the new cultural center will be the volunteer cinema Lichtspiel. A renovation is necessary to ensure its continued independent operation at the location on Oststraße. Wildtraut had precautionarily bought and stored cladding early on to avoid delays.
The cultural center is not yet fully funded, and the association is planning to use mobile technical equipment if funding becomes tight. Schröder is busy with inquiries for renting the building, which is larger than the current one. The office will remain at the Kulturstellmacherei for the time being.
In the past four weeks, there has been a surge in membership for the cultural association, with 50 new members joining, including one from France. This growing support underscores the community's eagerness for the cultural center's arrival.
Before the renovation becomes necessary, the Kulturstellmacherei will host an exhibition by Anne Schwabe. This will mark the last event at the old location before the cultural center takes center stage in Schneverdingen.
As the opening of the cultural center in Schneverdingen approaches, the community eagerly awaits the cultural and social opportunities it will bring.
