Cycling victory in Landshut County's 2025 urban bike project
In the heart of Bavaria, the district of Landshut recently concluded a successful "Stadtradeln" campaign, a movement promoting sustainable mobility and climate protection. This year's event, which took place from June 22 to July 12, 2025, attracted over 81 teams and 1,172 active cyclists, covering a remarkable total distance of over 230,000 kilometers.
One of the key components in this initiative was the RADar! reporting platform, an essential tool for improving cycling infrastructure. Citizens could use RADar! to report defects in cycling infrastructure, such as potholes, poor signage, or lack of parking facilities. Submissions to RADar! were free, and they were sent to the respective municipality for prompt attention.
The State Realschule Ergolding secured first place in the team ranking, demonstrating a commendable commitment to the cause. The school also covered an impressive number of participants and kilometers in the campaign.
The promotion of cycling in the district includes the use of RADar!, making it another component in this comprehensive effort. The winners in various categories of the campaign will be honoured at a ceremonial awards ceremony in October.
The "Stadtradeln" campaign gained international significance, with over 3,000 communities participating in Germany, parts of France, Denmark, and even the USA. For a comprehensive overview of the results, interested parties can visit the official Stadtradeln website for the district of Landshut at stadtradeln.de/landkreis-landshut.
RADar! is not just a tool for reporting defects, but an important step towards improving cycling infrastructure and promoting sustainable mobility. By using RADar!, citizens can contribute to a cleaner, healthier, and more bike-friendly environment in their district. The RADar! reporting platform is available at www.radar-online.net.
In the "Team-Wertung" category of the "Stadtradeln" 2025 competition in Landshut, the first place was achieved by the team "Landshut radelt." The use of RADar! was additional to the "Stadtradeln" campaign, providing a valuable supplement to the district's efforts in promoting cycling.
