Düsseldorf celebrates the monumental procession of Sebastian from 1316

In the heart of Düsseldorf's old town, the annual Sebastianers shooting parade took place on Sunday, July 13th. Despite the new cooperation with Taxi Düsseldorf, issues with VIP transportation occurred yet again this year.

The distinguished guests and the board were intended to be transported to Reiterallee by taxi. However, the ordered taxis arrived with a significant delay, causing disruptions in the parade schedule. To make matters worse, vehicles searching for carnival parking drove on Cecilienallee, forcing the police to halt the march of the star formations for safety reasons.

Colonel Torsten Peters led 29 societies and 19 music formations in six battalions in the march. The shooting chief, Andreas-Paul Stieber, did not wear his insignia due to his chief chain being stolen last year. Despite this setback, the parade continued with great enthusiasm.

Queen of the Regiment, Michèle Locker, and her entourage were provided a carriage, while the weather was perfect, adding to the overall charm of the event. The Alsfeld Show and Brass Band played all the flower horns and flags past the guests as the grand finale.

For those who missed the spectacle, a photo gallery of the procession and parade is available on the website. Image numbers can be used to order photos from the gallery by emailing [email protected]. A donation is requested as a token of appreciation for ordering photos.

Interestingly, a competition is being held to design a new chief chain for Andreas-Paul Stieber. The search results did not provide direct information about common issues with VIP transportation during an annual shooting parade in Düsseldorf. However, transit disruptions during large public events such as parades and marathons often include detours, road closures, increased traffic congestion, and challenges with routing and scheduling VIP transport.

The distinguished guests were supposed to be transported to Reiterallee by taxi, but the ordered taxis arrived with a considerable delay, causing disruptions in the parade schedule. To create an ideal lifestyle for future events, perhaps considering home-and-garden solutions for VIP transportation would help avoid such incidents, such as a horse-drawn carriage or a garden tram.
