Düsseldorf's Hofgarten opens to the public for live concerts, beginning this Sunday
The Hofgarten in Düsseldorf is set to host a series of open-air concerts this summer, featuring a diverse lineup of ensembles performing jazz, world music, and more. The series, which has been running since 1978, is supported by the city's Cultural Office and takes place at the music pavilion between the theatre and Schloss Jägerhof.
The Swinging Funfares kicked off the concert series on June 29, 2025, with their lively jazz performances. On July 6, the Rheinbahn Orchestra will take the stage, presenting a repertoire that includes jazz combos, Schlager trios, and swing grooves from the 1920s to the 1940s.
A new addition to the series, the Blue Shivers, will perform on July 13. This newly formed trio will add an intimate acoustic touch to popular songs with their vocals and guitar. On July 20, the Rockchor 60+, under the direction of Dieter Falk, will create a unique choral experience with classic songs.
On July 27, Duo Savoir Vivre will present a programme of timeless French chansons, fine jazz gems, and heartfelt pop classics. The bigbandfriends, with over 25 years of passion for jazz with swing, soul, and groove, will perform under the direction of Jon Boutin on August 10.
Bigband INTAKT will take the stage on August 17, with a mix of swing, Latin, jazz rock, and rock and pop titles. Their performance is expected to showcase their extensive experience and passion for jazz music. The fresh and energetic Essex Youth Brass Orchestra, consisting of 50 young musicians, will perform on August 24, presenting a colorful program ranging from film music highlights to works by Sibelius and Sparke.
The concert series will conclude with the Essex Youth Brass Orchestra on August 24, bringing a fresh and energetic performance to the series. For those interested in French pop music, the CHANCE Festival on August 30 will focus on this genre and other cultural programs in the Hofgarten area.
