Solidarity Festival ZACK: Mission Lifeline Gathers Local Initiatives to Discuss Empowerment Amidst Crises

The local branch of Mission Lifeline is hosting a mini-festival, ZACK, this Saturday, May 24th, seeking to unite initiatives, activists, and interested parties at Objekt klein a in Dresden. Under the banner "acting solidarity", the event invites attendees to a variety of workshops, panel discussions, creative activities, and live music performances.

In times of global challenges and turbulence, the ZACK mini-festival hopes to tackle the question of how solidarity works during a crisis. By highlighting the worldwide trend towards authority, isolation, and restriction, Mission Lifeline encourages more community, consideration, and fair distribution.

One of the key highlights of the festival is the workshop "Handlungsfähigkeit in Zeiten multipler Krisen" (Actionability in Times of Multiple Crises). This workshop aims to help participants reconsider political participation and strengthen their individual agency, with prior registration required at [email protected].

A panel discussion with representatives from participating initiatives will focus on solidarity in action, touching on daily work, effectiveness, and opportunities for stronger networking. The musical accompaniment for the event is provided by Kneipenchor Dresden, The Sleazies, LockDown, Oh Nico, and DJanes from Objekt klein a.

The festival program kicks off at 3 pm with an initiatives flea market, followed by the workshop at 3:30 pm. Live performances will begin at 4:30 pm, with the panel discussion set for 7:30 pm, and a closing concert is scheduled for 9 pm.

Located at Meschwitzstraße 9, 01099 Dresden, the event features the participation of various initiatives including Seebrücke Dresden, No to Pay-as-you-go Card Dresden, Initiative for Peace in Kurdistan, RomaRespect, Refugee Law Clinic, Rosa e.V. - Rolling Safe Space, Art Action, Balkan Bridge, Quarteera e.V., e*vibes, Welcome to Löbtau, and Detention Center Contact Group.

By fostering community, promoting collective action, and highlighting the work of different initiatives, the ZACK mini-festival aims to inspire and empower individuals to take action and contribute to positive change during challenging times.

In the midst of the Solidarity Festival ZACK, attendees can engage in a home-and-garden themed workshop titled "Garten als Lebensraum im Notfall" (Garden as a Refuge in Crisis) aimed at demonstrating how their home can serve as a sanctuary, even during tough times. Additionally, during the panel discussion, initiatives such as Art Action and e*vibes might share their experiences of implementing lifestyle changes that promote sustainability and self-reliance amidst crises.
