The Nature/Supernature exhibition, featuring over sixty Japanese prints from the Scripps College collection, is now open at our website Los Angeles in Hollywood and runs until May 31, 2021. Admission to the exhibition is complimentary, making it a must-visit for art enthusiasts.
The exhibition delves into the images of the natural world and its supernatural dimensions, offering a captivating exploration of the evolution of woodblock printing techniques. The gallery is open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., with the last reservation block at 5:30 p.m.
For those unable to visit in person, an upcoming webinar titled "Scenic Views and Supernatural Beings: New Themes in 19th-century Ukiyo-e Prints" is scheduled for April 19, 2021, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM PDT. The webinar will use the woodblock prints in the NATURE/SUPERNATURE exhibition as a starting point, exploring the themes of nature and supernatural beings in 19th-century Japanese prints and their significance in Japanese culture.
