Fair Week 2025 in Bergisch Gladbach a Huge Success
The 'Fair Week' in Bergisch Gladbach, held from September 12th to 26th, 2025, was a resounding success. The event, organized by the Fairtrade steering group, drew many visitors eager to learn about and engage with the Fairtrade topic.
The week kicked off with a guessing game, where over 150 participants tried to estimate the number of coffee beans in a packet of fair-traded coffee. Okan Soylu, a local footballer, won one of the fair footballs in this game. Meanwhile, Nesrin Hussein won the second fair football and plans to pass it on to her son Aland.
Renate Beisenherz-Galas captivated visitors with readings from 'Fair for the future'. She delved into the origins of world shops and fair trade, sparking much enthusiasm. The 'Aromas of the World' event, combining a reading with a wine tasting, also proved popular.
The Fairtrade steering group offered various activities and events throughout the week. They also participated in the annual city and cultural festival with the WIR-mobile.
The 'Fair Week' in Bergisch Gladbach 2025 has come to an end, leaving behind a renewed interest in Fairtrade. The steering group looks forward to building on this momentum for the Fair Week in 2026.
