Farm in the north allows cow cuddling
Experience the Calming Nature of Cow Cuddling at Lüttje Dröm Farm
In the picturesque district of Rendsburg-Eckernförde, a unique form of therapy is being offered at the Lüttje Dröm farm in Jevenstedt. Known as cow cuddling, this therapeutic activity is gaining popularity for its ability to reduce stress, anxiety, and improve overall well-being.
The farm, home to a total of 13 cows, has a select group of eight cows known as the "Magical Eight." These include Winnetou, Themba, Amira, Donna, Tilda, Alva, Annouk, and Viola. Each animal has its own unique mood and rhythm, as explained by farm owner Laura Morschett.
One of the visitors to the farm is Meike Nitsch, who has visited twice for cow cuddling. During her first visit, she felt a mix of respect and touch anxiety. However, she soon found that the animals, described by Morschett as "professionals" at human interaction, were accustomed to contact with strangers and quickly put her at ease.
Meike interacts with Amira during her visits, and she describes the heartbeat of the cow as relaxed. Jessica Nowatki, Meike's mother, also mentions that the touch anxiety goes away quickly during the cow cuddling experience.
The success of cow cuddling at the farm is based on the sympathy between the animal and the person, according to Morschett. The animals have been trained to trust humans and are open to cuddles and hugs.
Cow cuddling is open to people of all ages, genders, and backgrounds. It requires minimal training for participants beyond orientation and safety measures. Participants are guided on how to approach, touch, and hold the cows safely and respectfully.
Besides the therapeutic benefits, cow cuddling offers emotional support through the human-animal bond. It is known to enhance quality of life, reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness, and encourage gentleness, compassion, and positive social interactions.
If a cow does not want company or cuddles, it is left alone and can choose to leave. It is important to note that cow cuddling at the farm does not involve using the animals for milk or meat.
Laura Morschett invites everyone to experience the calming nature of cow cuddling on her farm. Whether you are a family, a couple, an animal lover, or seeking mental health support or unique therapeutic experiences, Lüttje Dröm farm offers a serene and unique setting for cow cuddling.
