Festival of street art makes its presence felt in Wolfenbüttel
Wolfenbüttel recently became a canvas for international artists as part of the Hola Utopia! Street Art Festival. The festival, which occurred last week in Braunschweig, also left visible traces in the city, including a new artwork created by BeNeR1.
The festival is known for its large-scale wall paintings, or murals, which are the main focus of the event. This year, five objects in Wolfenbüttel were redesigned, with the support of sponsors and property owners.
The artwork in Wolfenbüttel, located at the intersection of Harzstraße and Lange Straße, features a library and a person on a ladder. It includes a quote from Gotthold Ephraim Lessing: "The ultimate goal of science is truth - The ultimate goal of the arts, however, is pleasure".
International artists such as Case Maclaim (Germany), Nunca (Brazil), Pose (USA), and Waone (Spain) were involved in creating the murals. Each artist brought their unique style and cultural influences to the public spaces in Wolfenbüttel, transforming them into vivid artworks.
In addition to the murals, the Hola Utopia! Street Art Festival features a variety of artistic events and activities. These include workshops, street jams, panel discussions, breaking events, concerts, and open-air cinema. The festival aims to provide a platform for artists to showcase their work and connect with the community.
