In the heart of festival season, the Oechsle Festival, now seven days old, is currently underway and continues until September 3. The event, known for its lively atmosphere and well-organized program, is experiencing a decrease in attendance compared to last year, with many attributing this to the unusually high temperatures.

Despite the heat, WSP Director Oliver Reitz has expressed satisfaction with the first week of the festival. He praised the redesigned evenings, music program, new sound system, and the hard work of the booth operators and staff. The festival is also home to several highlights, including the "PZ Huttengaudi," featuring the band "Blechblos'n," the "New Wave Evening" with performances by "The Curbsite Prophets" and "Mr. Ellis," and the election of the "1st Oechsle Festival Queen."

However, the high temperatures have been an issue at the festival. Despite the festival's best efforts to ensure a comfortable environment, many visitors have opted to spend their lunch breaks in air-conditioned environments rather than braving the heat. This trend is not unique to the Oechsle Festival, as high temperatures can reduce attendance at outdoor events due to discomfort and health risks.

Oliver Reitz acknowledged the servers' hard work, some of whom have multiple engagements at the Oechsle Festival and the Oechsle Festival despite the high temperatures. He expressed that it would be more pleasant at the festival with moderate temperatures and no rain.

Despite the decrease in attendance, there are still many table reservations at the Oechsle Festival this year, including from companies visiting with staff or clients. The "Dirndl Evening," scheduled for the second Saturday of the festival, is another popular event, with many looking forward to its traditional Bavarian charm.

As the festival moves past its halfway point, organisers and visitors alike are looking forward to the remaining days, hoping for cooler temperatures and a chance to enjoy the festival's offerings to the fullest. For those planning to attend, it is recommended to stay updated on the weather forecast and dress appropriately to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience.
