Fire Department activities in the local village, including the school museum
The Schönwalde Village and School Museum is set to host a captivating event on July 27th, from 2 PM to 5 PM, known as the "Fire & Flame" action day. This exciting day promises a wealth of activities centred around the local volunteer fire department.
Visitors will have the opportunity to engage with the fire department throughout the day, learning about fire safety, firefighting techniques, and the history of the community's fire brigade. The event kicks off at 10:30 AM with a fire department demonstration and informative session, followed by hands-on activities and equipment display from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
Outdoor seating will be available on the lush lawn in front of the museum, under the shade of chestnut trees (weather permitting), providing a picturesque backdrop for the day's events.
In addition to the fire department activities, the Ostholstein-Mitte district fire department's drone group will present high-tech rescue tools, offering a glimpse into the future of firefighting. Interested visitors can also learn about the latest drone technology and watch a live demonstration.
For the little ones, there's a fire truck bouncy castle, ensuring a fun-filled day for all ages. The Schönwalde fire department will also display its modern help and rescue vehicle, the HLF 10.
Throughout the day, people can try on equipment and gear, getting a sense of what it's like to be a firefighter. The museum café will be open, serving homemade cakes and tortes in the historic classroom benches, offering a delicious respite amidst the action.
