Focus on Digital Life Expands in Kitzingen County for over 60 Weeks
The 60+ Action Weeks, a popular event series for seniors in Kitzingen, Germany, will return from September 12 to October 13, 2025. This year's theme is "Digital Life in Old Age", offering a variety of activities designed for the senior community.
Organised by Herbert Köhl and Manuela Link from the Senior Citizens' Office in the district administration, the events will be spread throughout the district. The program brochure for the 60+ Action Weeks will be available from early August at various locations, including the official Kitzingen tourism website, local libraries, and senior citizen service centres.
The program includes lectures, educational offerings, cultural events, excursions, social afternoons, fitness, sports, and dance events. Highlights of this year's program include a Schlager revue with singer Teddy Herz, a musical breakfast featuring the band "TIMEOUT4music", and a "Golden Age Party 60+".
The opening event will take place on September 12 in the large meeting room of the district administration building, with PD Dr. Helga Pelizäus from the University of BW Munich giving the opening lecture on "Living in Old Age in a Digitalized World". Other educational offerings include courses on topics such as "Smart Home", "Banking digitally", internet fraud schemes, an "Internet café with helpful digital guides", and courses on handling smartphones and the messenger app "WhatsApp".
The closing event on October 13 will be a hiking tour in the district with a cozy stop. Approximately 200 events will be offered over the four weeks of the 60+ Action Weeks.
