Frank Lloyd Wright's Weisblat House Returns to Market at $2.25M
The Weisblat House, a renowned Frank Lloyd Wright-designed residence, is back on the market. Located in Charleston Township near Kalamazoo, Michigan, this historic home is listed for $2,250,000 with realtor Brian Kirksey of Keller Williams Realty Paint Creek, Ethos Real Estate Team.
Built in 1951, the 11-room, two-bedroom, 2,429 sq ft residence is one of four Wright-designed homes in The Acres, a planned community laid out by the architect himself. The house utilises Wright's signature in-line layout and incorporates several aspects of his concrete block system, including a large fireplace in the living room.
The Weisblat House was expanded in 1961 by Taliesin apprentices John Howe and William Wesley Peters, following Wright's passing in 1959. This expansion was carried out by Taliesin Associated Architects. The house is named after its original owners, Christine and David Weisblat.
Listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2004, the Weisblat House is protected by a preservation easement. The land and bonus lot have a no-build clause, ensuring the home is maintained in its current condition and prohibiting modification or demolition.
Realtor Brian Kirksey anticipates significant interest in the property due to its updated interior spaces, serene landscape, and Wright's international reputation. This is the second time the Weisblat House is on the market since its construction, offering a unique opportunity to own a piece of architectural history.
