Fritten from Paffrath have made a comeback.

After a period of mourning, the beloved Paffrather Frittenbude has resumed operations this week. The menu offerings are gradually returning, and despite some changes behind the counter, regular patrons will still recognize the familiar face of the woman in charge.

Fritten from Paffrath have made a comeback.

After an unexpected closure of three weeks, the beloved local food stand, the Paffrather Frittenbude, has reopened its doors this week under new management. Anja Parsch, the daughter of the founders Gerta and Helmut Parsch, has returned to take charge of the traditional eatery.

The Paffrather Frittenbude, which initially started as a sales wagon and a kiosk on the Paffrather village square in 1969, moved to its current location at Dellbrücker Straße 272 in June 1985. However, it stood empty from summer 2022 until early 2023, when it was reopened by former long-time employee Sonja Grell.

Now, under the leadership of Anja Parsch, operations at the Paffrather Frittenbude are running on a smaller scale. While not all dishes are back on the menu yet, the popular kidney skewers and cucumber salad will return soon. The food stand is currently seeking additional staff to help with the growing demand.

Anja Parsch has previous experience working behind the counter at the Paffrittenbude with her mother. After her children grew up, she has decided to return to manage the eatery. Sonja Grell, who had to close the Paffrittenbude unexpectedly, has found a new job at Diepeschrather Mill, employed by Nelson Müller.

In 2018, the Paffrather Frittenbude was operated by a tenant unsuccessfully. However, with the return of Anja Parsch, it seems the beloved food stand is back on track. The Paffrither Frittenbude is currently open from Wednesday to Sunday, with Monday and Tuesday remaining closed.

The Paffrather Frittenbude's reopening is a welcome news for the community, who have been eagerly awaiting the return of their favourite dishes. With Anja Parsch at the helm, the Paffrather Frittenbude is set to continue its long-standing tradition of serving delicious food to the people of Paffrath.

The Paffrather Frittenbude, under Anja Parsch's management, aims to maintain its traditional food-and-drink offerings, with the popular kidney skewers and cucumber salad expected to return soon. As the home-and-garden calendar gears up for the spring season, locals can look forward to enjoying their favorite dishes once more at the Paffrather Frittenbude.
