Gathering Constantly Near the Church

Let's dive into the thrilling tale of a sponsored run organized by the badass booster club of the evangelical kindergarten "Schatzkiste" in good ol' Eutin! Alongside the kindergarten team, these heroes embarked on a mission to secure a new "bird's nest" for a broken swing and a slide for the nursery kiddos.

Every tiny scholar at the kindergarten was invited to participate in this epic event. They sought sponsors—parents, grandparents, godparents, and siblings—to donate a freely chosen amount for each lap around the beautiful St. Michael's Church in Eutin.

In the week before the run, the children got pumped and ready at the kindergarten, practicing a few laps around the church to hone their running skills. On May 8th, at 3 pm, no less than 70 participants geared up with a lively "warm-up" led by "Löwe Daniel," a parent rep dressed to impress. The kids started in age-based groups and were fired up by "Löwe Daniel." Parents and guests roared with applause as they cheered on their little champions.

Between races, the children could recharge their energy levels with a scrumptious cake buffet, donated by the proud parents, in the community hall at the church. The jolly occasion also offered the kids a chance to frolick on the playground at the church before and after the run.

Every participating child lit up with pride as they crossed the finish line, beaming from ear to ear, and received a well-deserved drink, compliments of Alexander Meier from the Rewe market on Weidestraße and our generous benefactors.

The winners per age group included: Janne Wrage (2 years), Mia Phan (3 years), Carolin Kreutzfeldt (4 years), Tristan Klassen (5 years), Jette Thiersch (6 years), and Zoey Schmutzer (8 years). These champions were bestowed with a small gift, and all participants received a commemorative certificate the following day at the kindergarten.

In total, an impressive sum of 830 euros was raised, with an additional 270 euros from the delectable cake buffet. The ever-supportive Volksbank Eutin chipped in with a whopping 500 euros, and another donation is on the horizon. The kids of the "Schatzkiste" kindergarten can barely contain their excitement at the prospect of acquiring new gear, thanks to the incredible efforts of the booster club and the generous donors.

Kindergarten director Christina Hoyer expresses her heartfelt gratitude for the success of this joyful and safe sports event: "We're stoked that this event went off without a hitch!"

Later that week, the kindergarten's home-and-garden committee organizes a meeting to discuss the pre-planned lifestyle overhaul for the kindergarten, with a focus on enhancing the play area with a new home-and-garden setup.

With the funds raised from the successful sponsored run, the committee can now bring their ideas to life, creating a more welcoming and engaging environment for the children of "Schatzkiste" kindergarten.
