Hamm's Kita Sylverberg Launches Innovative 'Fuchsbau' Forest Group for Young Learners
Hamm's Kita Sylverberg has launched an innovative forest group, 'Fuchsbau', for children aged three to six. The group operates from a mobile home, inaugurated by Mayor Marc Herter, and focuses on independence, sustainable development, and nature-based learning.
The 'Fuchsbau' group spends most of their time outdoors, even in challenging weather, exploring the kindergarten's 10,000 square meters of forest area. The mobile home serves as a base, providing shelter, meals, rest, and storage. The group's pedagogical approach combines forest pedagogy and Montessori methods, with a motto of 'Experiencing nature - learning to live'. It aims to promote independence and sustainable development education.
The mobile home was set up and furnished by Mayor Marc Herter at the start of September. While information about the head of municipal kindergartens, Frau Baumann, is not available, her role in the inauguration is acknowledged.
The 'Fuchsbau' group at Kita Sylverberg offers children a unique, nature-focused learning environment. With its own forest area and dedicated mobile home, it fosters independence and sustainable development. The group's innovative approach is set to benefit young learners in Hamm.
