Ian Lindo Named 2025 Military Child of the Year
Ian Lindo, a 17-year-old student from Portsmouth, Virginia, has been honoured as the 2025 Military Child of the Year by the Coast Guard. The prestigious award was presented at a gala in Arlington, Virginia, during Military Child Month.
Ian, who is the son of a Coast Guard petty officer, was recognised for his resilience, leadership, and academic achievements. The award, established in 2005, is part of a programme by Operation Homefront, a non-profit organisation founded in 2002 to support military families.
Ian received a $10,000 scholarship, a laptop, and other donated gifts for his remarkable accomplishments. The scholarship will help him pursue his dreams of studying computer science at college.
