In the town of Gütersloh, a family of six meticulously designs a stunning, pool-inclusive paradise within their very own garden, creating a tranquil sanctuary.
In the picturesque town of Rietberg, located in the Ostwestfalen-Lippe (OWL) region of Germany, a 400 square meter garden has undergone a remarkable transformation. The garden now stands as an idyllic, structured haven in the country style, thanks to the efforts of its owner, Sina Corsmeyer-Quibeldey, a 39-year-old resident of Rietberg.
Sina, a lover of details and DIY projects, discovered the garden house on classifieds and took it upon herself to redesign the previously wild space. The garden now boasts various corners for relaxing and playing, including a "chill corner" with two loungers, a mini pond with a frog king that spits water, a swing frame, a stylish wooden log cabin with two levels, a sandbox with a play kitchen, and a wooden horse.
One of Sina's favourite features in her garden is a pool with a ladder, which she has framed with dark green ivy. The pool adds a touch of elegance and tranquility to the space, making it the perfect spot for a refreshing dip on a hot summer's day.
Sina's green thumb is evident throughout the garden, with a variety of flowers and fruit trees. Her favourites include black-eyed Susans and hydrangeas, which add bursts of colour to the space. She has also planted fruit trees, such as apples and plums, which not only contribute to the garden's aesthetic but also provide fresh produce for the family.
The Rietberg family, including Sina and her children, take great pride in their garden. They enjoy harvesting cucumbers, tomatoes, herbs, and strawberries, which they use in their daily meals. Sina's children are particularly involved in the gardening process, taking care of the plants and helping with the harvest.
In addition to its beauty, Sina's garden has been selected as one of 14 finalists in the ongoing competition for the "most beautiful garden in OWL." Voting for the competition will take place online in the first week of September. To find out more and cast your vote, check official OWL regional gardening websites or social media accounts for announcements and voting instructions.
As the competition heats up, Sina continues to work diligently in her garden, tending to her plants as early as 5 am. Her dedication and love for gardening are evident in every corner of her idyllic haven. Whether you're a gardening enthusiast or simply appreciate the beauty of a well-manicured space, Sina's garden is a must-see.
Sina's extensive home-and-garden projects have transformed the country-style garden in Rietberg, boosting its status as not just a picturesque retreat, but also a contender for the "most beautiful garden in OWL." Her love for gardening, evident through the careful arrangement of various features like the pool, "chill corner," mini pond, and fruit trees, extends even to the sophisticated home-and-garden magazine-worthy log cabin and the children's play area, which includes a sandbox and a wooden horse.
