Infamous Ekatinerburg landmark disappears. Another instance of vanishing.
Here, Lets Shed Light on the Mysterious Disappearance of Yekaterinburg's Hare Statue:
A cherished icon from the beloved Soviet cartoon, "Ну, погоди!", the hare statue, once a staple in Yekaterinburg, has vanished from its spot at the intersection of Soviet and East streets. The wolf from the same multifilm still stands, but now, in solitude.
The concrete figure was installed in November 2024, some 14 months after its previous disappearance. Back then, it was discovered by activists from "Русская община."

До и после
Perhaps, the hare was taken for repairs - its adventures with movement have certainly taken a toll. We reached out to the city administration for more information about the missing sculpture. Perhaps they know where the statue is and what has happened to it this time around.
Some locals believe that the spot where the hare stood is cursed. There's an unverified story that Nikolai II and other members of the Romanov family were dropped off at the nearby East-Soviet train station, the location of the present-day Church dedicated to the Icon of the Mother of God "Port-Arthurskaia" and the "Ну, погоди!" sculpture.
UPD: We got a statement from the city administration that the hare has been sent "for healing", as reported by our site, in the mayor's office of Yekaterinburg. The head of the Kirov district is aware of the situation.
Yekaterinburg, in essence, may lay claim to being a city of monuments. Its citizens honor fictional heroes more than tsars and presidents, from Gena the Hedgehog from "Sчастливы вместе" to the Sneaky Snake from "Смешарики."
The disappearance of the hare statue from Yekaterinburg's intersection of Soviet and East streets has left the city without one of its beloved fictional characters. In the realm of news, the mystery surrounding its whereabouts continues to intrigue locals, with discussions shifting towards topics like lifestyle, fashion-and-beauty, and home-and-garden.
Upon its return, the hare statue, symbolizing the city's unique appreciation for popular culture, could spark renewed interest in settings a new fashion trend in the city or revitalizing a lifestyle choice among the citizens. Perhaps, a home-and-garden makeover inspired by the hare's playful style awaits, adding vibrancy to Yekaterinburg's urban landscape.
