Involvement of Commission Extended to:
On the 30th of August, the Senior Citizens' Information Meeting will take place in Bentrup-Loßbruch, at Paulinenstraße 65. Hosted by the city portal, this meeting offers an opportunity for senior citizens and interested parties to engage with members of the Senior Citizens' Council and employees of the senior citizens' work.
The event, which runs from 11 AM to 1 PM, will commence with a welcome by Mayor Roman Post. Following this, Mayor Frank Hilker will present the results of the senior citizens' survey, shedding light on the needs and suggestions of senior citizens in the city.
The main topics of discussion will focus on the results of the current senior citizens' survey and new projects for the elderly. These projects aim to enhance the quality of life for senior citizens and contribute to the city's social life.
Ingrid Dannhäuser and Marion Kettelhake will discuss the work of the Senior Citizens' Council and the offers of the Senior Citizens' Café. The council plays a crucial role in urban development in Detmold, ensuring the needs and suggestions of senior citizens are at the forefront of decision-making.
After 3:15 PM, a short walk through Bentrup-Loßbruch is planned. This will provide an opportunity for attendees to share their experiences in neighborhoods in Detmold and discuss the impact of senior citizens on the city's social fabric.
A new pick-up and drop-off zone in the city center of Detmold is being established to facilitate the participation of the elderly. This initiative underscores the city's commitment to making services more accessible for senior citizens.
The meeting will conclude around 4 PM at the community center "Alte Schule". A Q&A session will follow after the presentation, allowing attendees to ask questions and share their thoughts on the discussed topics.
Else Kolbe, who is collaborating with the elderly residents to present the results of the current senior survey and lead the discussion, will be present throughout the meeting.
Senior citizens in Detmold significantly contribute to the city's social life, and they are actively involved in associations in the city. The Senior Citizens' Information Meeting is just one of the many ways the city is working to engage with and support its senior citizens.
Interested parties are encouraged to attend this informative and engaging event.
