LA unveils vegan culinary event featuring acclaimed Tokyo chef Katsumi Kusumoto
From January 6 to 15, 2023, renowned Japanese chef Katsumi Kusumoto will bring his exceptional vegan culinary skills to Los Angeles. The limited-time culinary series, titled SAIDO's Vegan Way, will take place at our website Los Angeles, a restaurant situated in Hollywood's Ovation Hollywood (formerly Hollywood & Highland).
Chef Kusumoto, known for his expertise in Japanese cuisine with an emphasis on plant-based cooking, has made a name for himself at his Tokyo-based restaurant SAIDO, which was voted the World's Best Vegan Restaurant in 2019 by HappyCow.
The series will offer a three-course lunch and a six-course dinner each day, featuring dishes such as monaka salad, saimen noodles, and vegan cheesecake. The dinner menu will also include season vegetable potage, vegan grilled unagi eel over rice, vegan yakitori skewer, and more.
The restaurant offers sweeping views of Hollywood and Downtown Los Angeles, and walk-ins will be accommodated if available. However, reservations are highly recommended and can be made online.
The popup event is presented by LA Foundation and Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), with support from All Nippon Airways, Co., Ltd. For more information, visit the Los Angeles website and social channels: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
SAIDO serves exquisitely prepared vegan Japanese cuisine, as well as liquors and cordials especially selected by Chef Kusumoto. The restaurant offers a visionary approach to Japanese food without any meat, fish, chemicals, or refined sugar.
Our website Los Angeles occupies two floors at Ovation Hollywood, and the SAIDO Vegan Way Culinary Series is part of an innovative, worldwide project with three hubs - London, Los Angeles, and São Paulo - conceived by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan.
