Landshut Residents: Get Subsidized Fruit Trees for Biodiversity

Landshut residents can now order fruit trees at a subsidised rate as part of the 'Streuobst für alle' program, aiming to boost biodiversity and climate resilience within the city. The initiative, part of the Bavarian Streuobstpakt, offers up to three trees per property owner for just €10 each, including posts and binding material.

The fruit trees, delivered as bare-root plants, should be planted promptly after pickup in November. Orders can be placed via an online form at www.our website/streuobstaktion until October 10th or by phone at 0871/881600, with allocation on a first-come, first-served basis. Varieties available include apples, pears, plums, sour cherries, walnut, and speierling, with a stem height of 1.40 to 1.80 meters and a space requirement of 10x10 meters.

The program is managed by the Environmental Department of the city of Landshut, responsible for environmental, climate, and nature protection, as well as biodiversity consultation and climate protection management. For queries, contact the department at 0871/881600 or via email at naturschutz@our website.

By planting these fruit trees, Landshut residents can contribute to preserving endangered animal species and promoting biodiversity. The trees, which become more valuable with age, also help adapt to climate change. Don't miss out on this opportunity to green your property and support the city's environmental initiatives.
