Linen's Freubad Festival 2025: A summery event filled with music and swimming
The Freubad Festival 2025, set to take place on August 22 and 23, promises a vibrant mix of music, performances, and family-friendly activities at the scenic outdoor pool area in Hallenfreibad Lienen, Holperdorper Straße 37, 49536 Lienen.
Kicking off on Friday, the warm-up day runs from 5:30 PM to 11:00 PM, featuring an unexpected performance by Jonas Riemer, a unique blend of reading, performance, and spontaneous art by Sarah Giese, and live illustrations by Victoria Krisai. The evening culminates in an open-air cinema screening, presented by Filmwerkstatt Münster, showcasing a selection of short films.
The main festival day unfolds on Saturday, starting in the afternoon with family-friendly activities such as children’s theater (free for children under 12) and a disco swim. As the sun sets, five different concerts take centre stage, with dancing continuing until midnight. The eclectic lineup, curated by RESET e.V., includes performances by Canape, a Münster-based band known for their fusion of disco, jazz chords, and catchy hooks, and DJ Efface, who will spin a mix of house, funk, soul, and world music. Other acts performing on the second day include Jonas Riemer, Sarah Giese, Victoria Krisai, Josie Malou, Morina Miconnet & Franck Senegas, João Selva, Dolphin Love, and Keanler.
Festival-goers can enjoy a variety of culinary options, including poolside fries, waffles, vegan options, and fine drops from the Stilhaus. For those seeking a more tranquil experience, the pool remains open until 10 PM for a quiet midnight swim, with a small sauna available for use during this time.
Camping is available on-site for 5 € per night (children under 12 are free), with toilets available all night long, and swimming possible again at 8 AM. A bus will depart from Münster directly to the festival on Saturday, with departure around 3:30 PM and return around 1:15 AM. The festival entrance is included in the ticket price, but spaces are limited.
The Freubad Festival 2025 is organized by RESET e.V. from Münster, in cooperation with the municipality of Lienen, the support association of the indoor pool, and the BWG.
