Madhya Pradesh CM Vows to Make Sehore TB-Free, Orders Pomegranate Crop Damage Probe

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan recently visited Vidisha, where he inspected exhibitions, distributed benefits under various government schemes, and visited a health camp. During his visit, he committed to making Sehore district tuberculosis-free and ordered an investigation into pomegranate crop damage in Rajasthan's Balotra region.

Chouhan's visit to Vidisha on October 6 included a programme at the Bilkisganj Krishi Upaj Mandi, where he interacted with farmers and women beneficiaries. So far, 500 patients, including 90 pregnant women, have been screened as part of the tuberculosis-free campaign. Teams of doctors are providing free medicines and nutritional support to patients.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin, Madhya Pradesh has received 19 lakh houses. Surveys are ongoing to include more families and ensure no poor family remains in a kutcha house. The government aims to provide electricity to even the smallest villages, with only five houses.

Chouhan also assured farmers with soybean crop losses due to heavy rainfall will be compensated under the free crop insurance scheme. In addition, the 'Ladli Behna Yojana' aims to transform women's welfare, with the goal of ensuring every woman in self-help groups earns at least Rs 1 lakh annually through the 'Lakhpati Didi' Abhiyan.

During his visit, Chouhan demonstrated his commitment to various aspects of development, from health and housing to agriculture and women's empowerment. The investigation into the pomegranate crop damage and the ongoing surveys will ensure timely support to affected farmers and families.
