The Wetter City Marketing Association is set to host a bat tour at Harkortsee in Wetter (Ruhr) on August 22nd. This exciting event offers a unique opportunity for both children and adults to observe nocturnal insect hunters in action.

The meeting point for the bat tour is at 9 pm at the car park of the natural swimming pool. Participants are advised to wear sturdy footwear for the tour and to bring a flashlight for each person.
Manfred Kohlstadt, a bat expert, will guide the tour. As the sun sets, the bats become active and search for food for their young. During the tour, an ultrasonic detector will be used to make the sounds emitted by the bats audible. It's fascinating to know that bats use ultrasonic sounds to locate their prey using their ears.
Please note that the participation fee for adults is 10 euros, and for children, it is 5 euros. The group will make their way to the bank of the Ruhr during the tour.
