Meet Zoo Keepers: Oberrabenstein's Free Event on Oct 4
The Wildgatter Oberrabenstein zoo invites visitors to learn about the daily tasks and challenges of zoo animal keepers. The free event, 'A Profession with Heart and Responsibility', coincides with the International Day of Zoo Animal Care on October 4th. It offers insights into the work of keepers, who care for animals, maintain habitats, and ensure their wellbeing.
Zoo animal keepers perform various tasks, including food preparation, animal observation, and enclosure care. They require skills such as animal care knowledge, physical stamina, attention to detail, and passion. Their work involves cleaning, feeding, and sometimes breeding support, as well as managing diverse species and facing physically demanding tasks. The head keeper of the Wildgatter will be present to share personal experiences and answer questions.
Visitors can expect visual materials and insights into training and daily responsibilities at the information booth, open from 11 am to 3 pm. The event is free, with regular Wildgatter Oberrabenstein admission prices applying (Adults 4.50 Euro, reduced 3 Euro).
The 'A Profession with Heart and Responsibility' event offers a unique opportunity to learn about the crucial role of zoo animal keepers. Visitors can gain insights into the challenges and passions behind this profession, ensuring a better understanding and appreciation for the dedicated individuals who care for our zoo animals.
