Get ready, Romeo and Juliet fans! The captivating world of William Shakespeare is coming to claims near you! "Shakespeare - Everywhere", a captivating initiative set to embark on an exciting journey across 61 localities in Romania, is all set to roll out on April 23.

Prepare to be enchanted as three theater vans, a mobile stage, and an ensemble of nine artists take center stage in cities and villages across the country. This exhilarating program offers a diverse lineup that includes theater workshops, sonnet recitals, laughter-filled comedy performances, and outdoor events designed to immerse you in the modern, accessible, and unique interpretation of the Bard's work.

The heart of the program, "The Shakespeare Gallery: Touring Sonnets", will transport you back in time with Shakespeare's sonnets set in captivating period aesthetics. Laughter abounds with the offbeat comedy performance "Shakespeare Abridged", inspired by Jess Borgeson, Adam Long, and Daniel Singer's witty play "The Complete Wrks of Wllm Shkspr (Abridged)". Fragments from beloved works like "Romeo and Juliet", "Othello", "Julius Caesar", and "Richard III" come alive in a performance brimming with rhythm and humor.

For the budding thespians, workshops are the perfect chance to tread the boards! These fun-filled sessions will allow children and teenagers to delve into themes such as love, identity, and rivalry, all while getting to know the Bard's works through engaging theater games.

An initiative of Craiova’s "Marin Sorescu" National Theatre and the Shakespeare Foundation, the caravan seeks to spark participation in theatre performances, even in areas with minimal or nonexistent infrastructure. It also aims to contribute to theatrical education, further nurturing the enchanting art of storytelling. Last year's "Shakespeare Caravan" graced 30 cities with open-air performances inspired by the plays of the Bard of Avon.

Founded in 1851, Craiova's "Marin Sorescu" National Theatre stands as the largest in Romania's southwestern Oltenia region. Over the years, it has become a hub for theatre enthusiasts, hosting the International Shakespeare Festival, an event where the captivating universe of the Bard is unveiled by international and local artists, every two years since 1994.
