NEC Australia & Western Sydney University Team Up for Smart City & Sustainability
NEC Australia and Western Sydney University have joined forces to drive innovation and sustainable development in the region. The partnership, sealed with a Memorandum of Understanding, will focus on joint research, technology pilots, community engagement, and shared advocacy.
The collaboration, led by NEC Australia CEO Jason Price, sees Western Sydney as a prime opportunity for smart city design and sustainable development. Five key areas will guide their work: Urban Transformation and Smart City Development, Net Zero Cities and Sustainability, Cyber Security, Agri-Tech, and the University's Factory of the Future.
Western Sydney University's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Barney Glover AO, and Chancellor, Professor Jennifer Westacott AO, both express enthusiasm for the partnership. They anticipate purpose-led and innovative outcomes in research, technology, and sustainability. The collaboration will open doors for staff, researchers, students, and the broader community through shared advocacy, integrated learning, and new technologies.
