New Leadership: Jürgen Gros Takes Over as CEO
New CEO Appointed for Central Association of the Automotive Trade (ZVK)
The Central Association of the Automotive Trade (ZVK) has announced that Dr. Jürgen Gros will take over as its new CEO, effective from an undisclosed date by the end of 2024. This decision reinforces the association's commitment to act independently following the separation of its organizational structure from the Central Association of the German Automotive Industry (ZDK), a move aimed at better defining the ZVK's own structures.
Dr. Gros, a 56-year-old political scientist, earned his doctorate from the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) in Munich. He brings a wealth of experience in association management, interest representation, and communication, having held executive positions in associations for the past two decades. Most recently, he served as the chairman of a cooperative association.
Prior to his role at ZVK, Dr. Gros worked at the Johannes-Gutenberg-Universität in Mainz. His appointment is not related to the election of Thomas Peckruhn as the new ZDK President or the open letter from ZDK giants addressed to the automotive community.
The separation of the ZVK and ZDK organizational structures is not scheduled for a specific date yet. Following the separation, the ZVK will act independently, focusing on key topics for the automotive industry.
Meanwhile, Thomas Peckruhn has been proposed as the chairman of the ZDK, a position that will be decided at the next ordinary member meeting in October 2025. The new ZDK President is also Thomas Peckruhn. An open letter from the ZDK giants has been addressed to the automotive community, but its content is not related to the appointment of Dr. Jürgen Gros as the new CEO of the ZVK.
As the automotive industry continues to evolve, the leadership changes at both ZVK and ZDK promise to bring fresh perspectives and strategies to navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead.
