Norwegian Princess Märtha Louise secures transaction for the family dwelling
Princess Märtha Louise of Norway has sold her family home in Lommedalen, marking a significant change in her personal life following her recent marriage to Shaman Durek Verrett. The property, which was listed for 18 million Norwegian krone (approximately $1.86 million), was sold just before her first wedding anniversary.
The princess originally put the house up for sale in May 2025, announcing in early August that it was back on the market. She described the home as a place filled with family memories—children playing, parties, meditation, and close to nature, as well as Oslo. The house offered many outdoor activities nearby, such as skiing, horseback riding, and golf.
Märtha Louise expressed gratitude for the home's role in her life and expressed hope that the new owners would enjoy the peace and joy the family experienced there. However, no specific public announcements about her next residence or future professional undertakings following the sale have been made.
The sale was confirmed by real estate agent Staale Ask Helland to local network TV2. The princess, who has three daughters named Leah, Maud, and Emma, from her marriage with her late ex-husband, Ari Behn, described the process as unraveling a flower petal by petal. She emphasized the importance of helping her daughters discover their true selves and described the house as the best place for her children to grow up.
The house was purchased by a family with children, and both the buyer and the seller are reportedly satisfied with the sale. The princess also mentioned that the house is where they have had their funniest parties, greatest conversations, and deepest meditations.
