Preparing for Children's Day on a Global Scale
In a bid to ensure a clean, well-maintained, and safe environment for children, the Enterprise for Municipal Services Wiesbaden (ELW) has been responsible for the upkeep of Wiesbaden's playgrounds since 2020. This information was revealed in a press release issued by the Press Office of the State Capital Wiesbaden, which can be found on their website at https://www.wiesbaden.de/pressereferat.
The ELW is working closely with the Parks Department, including gardeners, playground, and tree inspectors, to maintain the high standards of these play areas. The efforts of the ELW extend beyond special occasions like World Children's Day, ensuring that children can enjoy a clean and safe play environment throughout the year.
Last year, 2024, saw significant investments in the upkeep of Wiesbaden's playgrounds. A total of 635,000 euros was spent on replacement purchases, while 350,000 euros were allocated for repairs. These investments have already yielded visible improvements, with several playgrounds receiving upgrades.
In 2025, 995,000 euros have been planned for further replacement purchases of playground equipment. Part of these funds have already been implemented, with improvements made at the play ship Eleonorenanlage, Alfred-Delp-Straße, the kindergarten playground Warmer Damm, the main street play tower, and the carousel at Kochbrunnenplatz.
Citizens with questions or concerns about the maintenance and improvements of Wiesbaden's playgrounds are encouraged to contact the responsible department or office for more information. The ELW remains committed to providing a clean, safe, and enjoyable play environment for Wiesbaden's children.
