Vail Resorts Introduces Epic Friend Tickets for the 2025/26 Ski Season
Vail Resorts, a leading ski resort operator in North America, has announced a new initiative for the upcoming 2025/26 ski season – the Epic Friend Tickets. This program aims to make skiing more accessible and social, allowing Pass Holders to share discounted tickets with friends at half price across all Vail Resorts locations.
Epic Pass Prices and Epic Friend Tickets Eligibility
For the 2025/26 ski season, current Epic Pass prices before the September 1 increase are as follows:
- Epic Pass: $1,075 for adults and $548 for children
- Epic Local Pass: $799 for adults and $416 for children
- Epic Military Pass: $190 (for active/retired military and their dependents)
After September 1, 2025, prices for these passes will increase, though exact post-September 1 prices were not specified. Season-long Pass Holders (including Epic Pass, Epic Local Pass, and Epic Military Pass) will receive between 6 to 10 Epic Friend Tickets, depending on when the Pass was purchased. Those who bought their Pass before April 14, 2025, will receive 10 tickets.
How Epic Friend Tickets Work
To use an Epic Friend Ticket, you need to redeem it on EpicPass.com, activate it in the My Epic app, and both the Epic Pass holder and their friend need to be in the lift line together for the ticket to work. Each Epic Friend Ticket offers 50% off lift tickets at all 37 of Vail Resorts' North American resorts. For example, a $330 lift ticket could be purchased for $165 with this discount.
Friends who purchase a lift ticket using an Epic Friend Ticket can apply the full cost of one redeemed Epic Friend Ticket toward an eligible 2026/27 Epic Pass purchase—giving a double benefit for newcomers brought by existing Pass holders. This promotion excludes existing 2025/26 Pass holders.
The Epic Friend Tickets Program
The Epic Friend Tickets program is designed to celebrate the social side of skiing. With these tickets, Pass Holders can invite friends to join them on the slopes at a discounted rate. This initiative is part of Vail Resorts' ongoing efforts to enhance the skiing experience for their customers.
Vail Resorts CEO is Rob Katz. Recently, an investor firm, Late Apex Partners, has criticized Vail Resorts in a scathing letter and an 88-page report, but this new offering shows the company's commitment to providing value to its customers.
