Reveals Visage on a Lone Postcard - Dotzheim's Unveiling

Dive into Dotzheim's HeartWanna get a feel for what makes the western Wiesbaden neighborhood, Dotzheim, incredible? The new "Dotzheim Postcard" is here to impress! Featuring motifs from every district, this masterpiece was lovingly designed for ya by locals - and it's free! Let's take a look at this community-driven project made to bring us closer together.

Volker Watschounek has his nose buried in the puzzle: church, schoolhouse, castle. Each district counts. Together with Heike Schreiner, a picture of Dotzheim unfolds.

Stepping foot in Dotzheim, you can't miss the history, diversity, and community spirit. With nearly 30,000 residents, Dotzheim is one of Wiesbaden's largest districts, yet its multifaceted face hasn't been captured on one motif until now.

A Puzzle of Identities United

The new Dotzheim Postcard has managed to visually unite the six districts in a heartwarming tribute. Heike Schreiner, a talented artist from the Wiesbaden Art Office, and Harald Kuntze, a local council member and filmmaker, collaborated on this project, donating their time to find motifs that beat with the heart of the community.

"It wasn't an easy feat to pick motifs that most people associate with their respective district", says Kuntze of the challenge. He pulled images from his personal archives, spoke to his neighbors, and gathered feedback, resulting in a vibrant collage of history and emotion: the church for Kohlheck, the welcome sign for the Fairy Tale Land, Schloss Freudenberg for the namesake settlement, a school building for the Sauerland, and two high-rise buildings for the Schelmengraben. The mix was completed by motifs from the old town center of Dotzheim - including the historic signal box cottage.

A Motif for All

First shown off as a massive banner at the New Year's reception in January, the Dotzheim Postcard is now available in a handy format: the Dotzheim Postcard. Printed, distributed, and ready to carry with you wherever you go. "We wanted to set a visible sign - for connectedness, for belonging", says Schreiner about the project's goals. The cards are available at numerous locations, such as events, shops, and clubs.

Your Little Piece of Home

Whether on the fridge, the bulletin board, or sent from afar as a holiday greeting, the card paints a picture. Of diversity, of shared history, of Dotzheim.
