Saxophone donation provides funding for music promotion in Obertshausen
In a commendable move, Sparda-Bank Hessen has donated 2,400 euros to Obertshausen's municipal music school, which will be used to purchase two new alto saxophones. This generous contribution is set to significantly boost the quality of musical education in the city.
The new saxophones will be utilised by students of the big band project at the Hermann Hesse School, addressing the growing demand for saxophone lessons in the music school. Jürgen Weiss, the head of the music school's instrumental area "woodwind" and saxophone teacher, is elated about this generous support.
Annette Battel from the board of the support association emphasised the importance of their commitment to the music school. She stated that music brings people together and connects, which is a reason for their commitment. Battel also highlighted that this donation addresses the lack of instruments in the music school, ensuring that more students can now benefit from the school's offerings.
The commitment from Mubiku and Sparda-Bank, as well as the support association, has been highly valued by Obertshausen's Mayor Manuel Friedrich. He praised the dedication of Mubiku and Sparda-Bank, noting that this cooperation and donation have an invaluable value for the music school and the city of Obertshausen.
With the addition of these new saxophones, the music school's offerings are expanded, providing more opportunities for young talents to develop musically. Two students of the big band project will now be equipped with new saxophones, enabling them to progress further in their musical journey.
This donation not only upgrades the school’s resources but also promotes musical growth and cultural vitality within Obertshausen. The enhanced music education may lead to greater community engagement through concerts and events, inspiring more youth in Obertshausen to participate in cultural activities, fostering local talent.
