Seven barrel-aged kvas sale points approved in Tomsk

Tomsk, May 24 - RIA Tomsk: Residents of Tomsk can purchase kvas, a traditional Slavic beverage, from barrels in the Kirovsky, Oktyabrsky, and Sovetsky districts. Regional administrations have agreed to place seven sales points for the barrels in 2025, a representative of the city's press service reported.

In the Kirovsky district, two mobile sales containers for kvas are situated: one on Moscow Highway, 109 (operated by Andrey Lutyuk), and another on Prospekt Kiрова, 65B (operated by Svetlana Bursaeva). According to the source, Bursaeva also sells kvas in the Oktyabrsky district, with barrels located on Sergey Lazo Street, 15 and 3b. The same vendor sells kvas in the Sovetsky district on Ulitsa Kievskaya, 13 and Prospekt Komsoмоlets, 58. Another barrel, on Ulitsa Sovetskaya, 45, belongs to Lutyuk.

No agreements for barrel sales have been made in the Leninsky district as of May 21, the representative said.

Previously, it was reported that the primary vendor of barrel-sold kvas in Tomsk until 2020 was the company "Tomskoe Pivo." From 2020 to 2023, the company ceased kvas sales due to the coronavirus. In 2024, the company shifted focus to bottled kvas sales.

In the Kirovsky and Oktyabrsky districts, Svetlana Bursaeva not only operates a sales container for traditional kvas on Moscow Highway, but also sets up barrels for food-and-drink in a lifestyle setting on Prospekt Kiрова, 65B, Sergey Lazo Street, 15, and 3b, creating a home-and-garden atmosphere for customers. Meanwhile, Andrey Lutyuk is responsible for the barrels on Prospekt Kiрова, 65B (in Kirovsky) and Ulitsa Sovetskaya, 45 (in Sovetsky), offering a taste of the traditional Slavic beverage in these districts.
