Silent Siren Alert: First Bathing Day Happening on August 17 and 18 at the Castle Island in Delmenhorst City Center
Get ready for a feathery, splash-tastic event as the 1st Delmenhorst Bathing Duck Days are set to take place on August 17 and 18, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Burginsel Delmenhorst, located at "An den Graften" in 27749 Delmenhorst.
Organised by the non-profit association Stars for Kids, this family-friendly event promises a delightful mix of activities, attractions, and fun for all ages. Large water basins will be used for bathing ducks during the event, and ducks can be brought from home or purchased on site for a donation.
The event aims to benefit Stars for Kids, which also finances the children's lunch of the municipal children and youth centres. So, not only will you have a fantastic time, but you'll also be contributing to a good cause.
Expect a colourful variety of bathing ducks exhibited by several exhibitors, including a private collector with 1,200 ducks and the company mbw with Schnabels brand ducks. To add to the entertainment, Ernie from Sesame Street, voiced by Matthias Schiemann, will perform a thematically appropriate song.
Visitors can also engage in various water games held on both Saturday and Sunday. For those who enjoy crafting, there will be an opportunity to make candles in the shape of bathing ducks.
The DLRG will present its rescue boat and bring the duck fishing game, ensuring a touch of excitement and education for everyone.
