Eagle 46 Yacht: A Sustainable Bluewater Cruiser

The Eagle 46 yacht, unveiled by Leonardo Yachts at Cannes in September, is making waves in the yachting industry with its focus on sustainability. The vessel incorporates a range of eco-friendly features, primarily through the use of the EcoDeck material and sustainable production methods.

The EcoDeck, used for the deck surface of the Eagle 46, is a key sustainable element designed to reduce environmental impact. This material is often made from recycled or eco-friendly components, minimizing the carbon footprint compared to traditional decking materials.

Eco-conscious manufacturing practices are also a hallmark of the Eagle 46. These practices include reducing waste, using energy-efficient processes, and selecting sustainable materials wherever possible. The aim is to enhance the environmental performance of the vessel over its lifecycle.

The Eagle 46's sustainable branding suggests the adoption of similar environmentally responsible materials and manufacturing standards as found in other leading green yachts. For instance, the all-electric E-Cat 80 uses carbon fiber for lightweight durability and integrates clean energy systems such as solar panels and electric motors.

While detailed specifics on the Eagle 46’s EcoDeck composition and exact production techniques are not fully covered in the current search results, its sustainable branding suggests a commitment to environmental responsibility.

The Eagle 46 is a semi-custom yacht, available in two core versions: the Carbon Edition and the Vinylester Edition. The Carbon Edition features a Corecell carbon hull and deck, carbon mast and boom, and North 3Di Endurance sails. On the other hand, the Vinylester Edition has a Vinylester vacuum-infused hull, an aluminum rig, and North NPC Cross-Cut Nordac sails.

The Eagle 46 offers enough accommodation for a few days on board, with a double berth in the forecabin, a pair of 2m-long settees in the saloon, a well-appointed galley, heads/shower compartment, and a large quarter berth. The vessel also boasts a large cockpit for family and friends to enjoy, with flush hatches used to enhance its aesthetic appeal.

With a length overall (LOA) of 14.26m or 46ft 9in, a beam of 3.03m or 9ft 11in, and a draught of 2.25m or 7ft 5in, the Eagle 46 is designed for bluewater cruising and offshore sailing. The length waterline (LWL) of the Eagle 46 is 9.39m or 30ft 10in.

The base price of the Eagle 46, excluding VAT, is €725,000. For more information, visit leonardoyachts.com.
