Social Gatherings during Afternoons catering to social requirements
Community Gatherings Offer Warmth and Solidarity in Pforzheim this Winter
The winter months can be challenging for many in the city of Pforzheim, with rising energy prices leading to financial strain and the potential for loneliness and isolation. However, the Working Group of Christian Communities (ACG) is working to combat these issues by organizing a series of open afternoons throughout the winter.
Starting on Christmas Eve, the Diakonie Pforzheim in the House of the Evangelical Church will host an open evening, offering free warm meals and a colorful program to those in need. On the same day, St. Francis will hold the first open afternoon of the winter season following the church service.
From January 7 to March 3, 2024, various churches in Pforzheim will open their doors for open afternoons. The Evangelical Lutheran Community, the New Apostolic Church Brötzingen, St. Antonius, the Caritasverband, the Evangelical Methodist Church, and the Vesper Church in the city church of Pforzheim will all be hosting these events.
Each open afternoon will provide a platform for conversation and exchange among people of all ages, as well as an opportunity to enjoy singing, coffee, and cake. The open, ecumenical afternoons aim to counteract loneliness and provide a sense of community during the cold winter months.
A total of 120 warm meals consisting of meatballs, potato salad, and Maultaschen were distributed at the first open afternoon at St. Francis. The remaining dates for these events can be found in the website calendar of the ACG.
While Pforzheim is known for its cultural venues such as the Jewellery Museum and art exhibitions, direct search results do not currently list upcoming open afternoons in 2024 that feature free food and sociability events. Local community centers, cafes, universities, or cultural associations may be the most likely organizers for such events.
To find announcements of free social open afternoons or similar events in 2024, consider checking local community bulletin boards, municipal event calendars, or social networking groups in Pforzheim. If you need assistance with keywords or places to check, feel free to ask. Together, we can help ensure that everyone in Pforzheim has a warm and welcoming place to gather this winter.
Despite the city's rich culture in home-and-garden venues like the Jewellery Museum, winter in Pforzheim may offer more than just art exhibitions. The Working Group of Christian Communities (ACG) is planning a series of open afternoons focusing on lifestyle, providing an opportunity for people to come together, chat, and enjoy food and music. In addition, these events aim to foster a sense of community and combat feelings of loneliness and isolation during the winter season.
